How to manage stock in a kirana store without counting all evening

Stock is where a kirana shop quietly wins or loses money. Run out of a fast mover and you lose the sale; overstock something slow and your cash is sitting on the shelf. You don't need a full stock-take every week to stay on top of it — a few habits do most of the work.

Set a minimum level on your fast movers

For the things that sell every day — tea, biscuits, oil, a popular soap — decide the level at which you'd want to reorder. When stock drops below it, you get a low-stock alert, so you add it to the next order instead of finding the shelf empty at the worst moment.

Sell loose items by weight

Rice, dal, sugar and oil don't move in neat packets. If you sell them by weight, your stock count stays honest — sell 750 g and the app takes exactly that off, instead of you guessing at the end of the day.

Watch what actually sells

Once billing and stock are connected, you can see which items move and which just sit there. That's the list that tells you what to reorder more of — and what to stop buying.

Let the billing do the counting

The real trick is to not count separately at all. With BazarBook, stock goes down as you bill, so your counts stay current without a stock-take, and low-stock alerts tell you what needs reordering. You can even add items by voice as you sell them the first time.
