Sales returns and exchanges

A returned item should not leave the original sale, stock and customer balance disagreeing. Open the original bill in BazarBook, choose the items and quantities coming back, then record a refund or an exchange.

At a shop counter

A customer returns one of three shirts and takes a different size. Select the shirt from the original bill, add the replacement, and settle the price difference. The return remains linked to that bill for later review.

How it works

Return only what came back

Choose individual bill lines and quantities. The original invoice stays visible, with its linked return history.

Exchange in the same flow

Add replacement stock and settle the balance instead of pretending the old bill never happened.

Keep the books consistent

The return updates the relevant stock and money records. GST-enabled shops get the applicable credit-note document; other shops get a return receipt.

Good to know

A return starts from an existing bill. Refund and GST treatment depend on that bill and the shop settings.
